In November in Chigorodó, a municipality in Urabá Antioquia, the Intercollegiate Dance Festival (FestivalIntercolgiado de Danza) takes place, an event that already has more than ten years of tradition.
 
The festival offers a platform for students to showcase their skills in a variety of dance styles, from traditional rhythms such as cumbia and bambuco to modern and contemporary dances.

In Chigorodó, usually in May, the Children's Theater Festival (Festival Infantil de Teatro) is held, an event that promotes culture and performing arts among the youngest in the region and provides boys and girls with a platform to express their creativity and talent.
 
During the festival, students from the different Child Development Centers, Gardens, and Preschools in the municipality present works prepared by their teachers and parents, usually representing traditional children's stories and promoting values ​​such as friendship, solidarity, and respect.

In mid-December the town of Carepa in Urabá Antioquia celebrates its anniversary, commemorating ordinance 7 of December 15, 1983 by which the town was erected into a municipality, in what is also known as the Papagayo and Return Festivals. .

Festivals of Antioqueñidad

In August, Apartadó celebrates the "Fiestas de La Antioqueñidad", a festival that pays tribute to the culture and traditions of all the regions of the department, and is celebrated on the 11th in commemoration of the proclamation of the independence of Antioquia in 1813.
 
The central event of the day is a massive parade led by young people from the different educational institutions of the city in which the typical costumes of the department are displayed.

Festivities of the Virgin of Carmen

On July 16, the municipality of Apartadó pays tribute to the drivers during the traditional festival of the Virgen del Carmen (Fiestas de La Virgen del Carmen)
 
The main event takes place at the city's Transportation Terminal, where presentations by guest artists are held for the enjoyment of all drivers in the city. 

Likewise, the day includes a formal event led by the mayor, who takes advantage of the party to thank the drivers for their work, whose work is fundamental in the economic life of Apartadó and Urabá.
 

Banana Festival

A few kilometers from the Gulf of Urabá is Apartadó, in the heart of the banana growing area, this being the main crop in the region. The name of the municipality is linked to this product, translating to “Río del Plátano” in the local indigenous dialect.Paying tribute to this tradition, every year Apartadó celebrates its Banana Festival, usually in November.
 

Balloon Festival

Every year on the first or second long weekend in November, Venice becomes the scene of the spectacular International Balloon Festival (Festival de Globos).
 
For two days the skies of this municipality in southwestern Antioquia, about 60 kilometers from Medellín, are filled with hundreds of balloons of all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors, manufactured by enthusiastic balloon makers from various towns in Antioquia and other departments of the country. 

"Trapiche" and Coffee Festivals

During the first festive long weekend of November in Pueblorrico, a municipality in southwestern Antioquia, the Coffee and Trapiche Festivals (Fiestas del Café y el Trapiche) are celebrated with which Pueblorriqueños pay tribute to their two most characteristic products: coffee and panela.

Kite Festival

In mid-August, the Kite Festival (Festival de Cine de Jardín ) is celebrated in Jericó, about 105 kilometers southwest of Medellín. The festival takes advantage of the characteristic winds of the season, filling the sky of Jericó with kites of all colors, shapes and sizes, creating an impressive visual spectacle.
 
The main event of the festival is, of course, kite flying, an activity that takes place at Morro El Salvador, a natural viewpoint from which you can see the entire town.
