Equine Festival

Between the end of July and the beginning of August in Amalfi, a municipality in the Northeast of Antioquia, about 140 kilometers from Medellín, the Judged Equine Festival (Festival Equino) takes place, supervised by the Association of Horsemen of Antioquia ASOCABA.
 
The event takes place in the municipal coliseum where more than 250 equine specimens from local and regional farms are judged by qualified ASOCABA judges in the modalities of trot, trail and gallop.

Festivals of Peace and Progress

Between the end of June and the beginning of July, Amalfi celebrates its Festival of Peace and Progress (Fiestas de La Paz y El Progreso ), the main event in the festive calendar of this municipality in the northeast of Antioquia. The festivals include gastronomic and craft fairs with local products, where you can try the typical food of the region such as tripe, beans and all kinds of sweets derived from panela.
 
A folklore parade of comparsas is also held in which tribute is paid to the culture of the municipality.

Patron Saint Festivities Of San Miguel Del Tigre

In mid-July, around the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, traditional fairs and festivals are held in San Miguel del Tigre, a district of the municipality of Yondó in Magdalena Medio, Antioquia.

During the weekend, the inhabitants of this district, as well as visitors from Casabe, the municipal seat of Yondó, Barrancabermeja and other nearby towns, gather on the soccer field to enjoy craft and gastronomic fairs, cultural presentations, fireworks and, mainly, live music with concerts by guest artists of national stature such as Peter Manjarrés and Silvio Brito.
 

Yondó Anniversary

In November the municipality of Yondó in Magdalena Medio Antioquia celebrates its anniversary, commemorating Ordinance 38 of 1978 by which it was erected as a municipality.
 
During the weekend around November 23, the municipal soccer field becomes the scene of a large number of guest artists of national stature.

In recent years Paola Jara, Rikarena, Jorge Celedón and Farid Ortiz have performed there.
There are also presentations by local artists with exponents of rhythms such as vallenato, merengue or reggaetón.
 

Lemon and Sympathy Festivals

In the young municipality of Puerto Triunfo in Magdalena Medio Antioquia, known mainly for being the place where Pablo Escobar's famous Hacienda Nápoles was located, the Lemon and Sympathy Festivals (Fiestas del Limón y La Simpatía) are celebrated every year, one of the main festivities of the calendar in the municipality. The festivals offer a varied cultural and recreational program.

There are sports competitions, beauty pageants, and live music performances that include genres such as tropical music, vallenato, and local bands.

In mid-September the mining town of Zaragoza in northeastern Antioquia celebrates its birthday, having been founded on the 14th of this month in 1581.

The people of Zaragoza celebrate the festivities of their town by paying homage to their patron saint, in what is known as the Patron Saint Festivities of Santo Cristo de Zaragoza (Fiestas Tradicionales Del Santo Cristo), a festival that combines religious elements with activities typical of the popular festivities of the region.
 

River Festivals

Very close to the mouth of the Nechí River in Cauca is Tarazá, a town founded in the mid-20th century and elevated to the category of municipality after its segregation from the town of Cáceres in 1979, where the "Fiestas del Río" are celebrated at the beginning of the year. Río, in honor of the connection of the Taracas community with the Nechí.
 
The river is the main scene of the weekend, filling with families who swim in it and go to its banks with traditional pots to share a community lunch.

Festivals Of Culture, Gold And Rebirth

With a history closely linked to gold mining since the mid-17th century, El Bagre became a municipality in the second half of the 20th century when, by Ordinance 22 of the Departmental Assembly, it was segregated from the municipality of Zaragoza.

Every October the inhabitants of the town celebrate this event with the "Fiestas De La Cultura, El Oro Y El Renacer" , a tribute to the culture and history of this town in Bajo Cauca Antioquia.
 

Municipal Anniversary

On April 12, the municipality of Caucasia in Bajo Cauca, Antioquia, celebrates its anniversary, commemorating the date on which Doña Petrona Arrieta and her family settled in these lands on the banks of the Cauca River, building the first huts in what was initially called the Cañafístula hamlet, before receiving the name that it still retains in 1927.
