In June in Ipiales the celebration of Inti Raymi (Fiestas Tradicionales Inti Raymi ) takes place, a centenary festival of Quechua origin that was traditionally held on the occasion of the southern winter solstice, around June 21. City Anniversary - International "Trio" Competition

On June 24 (feast of San Juan Bautista) Pasto, capital of the department of Nariño whose municipal seat bears the name of San Juan de Pasto, celebrates its name day. 

On the occasion of this festival, the "International Trios Competition" has been held since 2012, an event that brings together trio groups from different Latin American countries, becoming a stage for artistic and cultural exchange.
 

"Guaguas de Pan" Festivals

At the end of June in the town of Jongovito, south of the urban area of ​​Pasto, the patron saint festivities of San Pedro and San Pablo are celebrated, whose festival is commemorated on the 29th of the month according to the liturgical calendar.
 
This festival is known locally as the "Guaguas de Pan" Festival, the name given to dolls made with wheat flour that are characteristic of the southwestern part of the country. 

Traditionally, during the holidays, wooden structures are installed that are completely covered with “guaguas” and agricultural products. 

International Festival "Ipiales Cuna de Grandes Tríos"

Fire Carnival

The Fire Carnival (Carnaval del Fuego) is the most important celebration in the municipality of Tumaco, born as a response of community solidarity to the fire that suffered the town's fire station in the 1950s. 

To raise funds for its repair, a bazaar and a beauty pageant were organized, which later became a local tradition that continues to this day, celebrated in the five days leading up to the start of Lent.
