National Dance Meeting

At the end of June in the Valle del Cauca municipality of Yumbo, just 10 kilometers from the urban center of Cali, the traditional National Dance Meeting (Encuentro Nacional de Danzas) takes place, an event that already has more than 25 editions and that annually attracts more of 5,000 people.
 
The festival begins with a colorful parade. The attending dancers walk the streets of the municipality wearing the typical costumes of their regions of origin in a day that serves as an appetizer for the presentations of the following days. 

National Sugar Cane Fair

In early November, in Florida, a municipality located about 40 kilometers east of Cali, the National Sugarcane Festival (Feria Nacional de la Caña de Azúcar) is held, a traditional celebration that has become one of the main events on the festive calendar for the people of Florida.

The festival offers a diverse program that includes sports competitions, horseback rides and equine festivals, craft and food fairs, and antique vehicle parades.

International Tamborimba Percussion Festival

In July, Cali hosts the International Tamborimba Percussion Festival (Festival Internacional de Percusión Tamborimba), an event born in 2007 to disseminate different artistic proposals around percussion. It is currently one of the most important specialized percussion festivals in Latin America.

Since its first edition in 2001, organized by Fenalco Valle, the Cali Chamber of Commerce and local authorities, this fair has grown to become an international platform that brings together key sectors of beauty, cosmetics and aesthetics, health, medicine specialized, dentistry, plastic surgery, healthy living, nutrition and sports.

African Heritage Festival

Jiguales Black and White Festival

"Mono Núñez" Colombian Andean Music Festival

Since 1974, the “Mono Núñez” Colombian Andean Music Festival (Festival De Música Andina Colombiana Mono Núñez) has been held in Geneva, named in honor of Benigno Núñez, a musician born in this municipality in 1897. 

Declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 2003, it is one of the most important folk music festivals. of Colombia, and the most important Andean music event in the country, celebrating the typical rhythms of the region such as "pasillo", "bambuco", "torbellino" and "guabina".
