Ubatense Joy Festival

From the end of July until August 7, the Ubaté Festival of Joy (Festival de la Alegría Ubatense) takes place in Ubaté, within the framework of the fairs and festivals in honor of the Santo Cristo de Ubaté whose festival is celebrated on August 6.
 
For approximately two weeks, the Cundinamarca municipality is the scene of parades of floats and troupes, exhibitions of antique automobiles and motorcycles, and musical and dance presentations, paying tribute to the Andean and peasant musical tradition of the departments of Cundinamarca and Boyacá. 

Colombianity Festival

For nine days, generally in the third week of September, Tocancipá dresses up to organize the Festival of Colombianity (Festival de la Colombianidad), in which the town celebrates its birthday (September 21) paying tribute to the traditions of various regions of the country in a vibrant and colorful setting, full of music, folk dances, typical gastronomy, crafts and recreational activities.
 
Musical and dance groups, theater groups, small entrepreneurs and floats from all regions of the country meet in this municipality just 20 kilometers from the country's capital. 

"Ruana" and Peasant Music Festival

Every year, as part of the celebration of the Peasant Family, the municipality of Tenjo located about 28 kilometers from Bogotá pays tribute to its artisans at the "Ruana" and Peasant Music Festival (Festival de la Ruana y La Música Campesina).
 
During this day, in the town square you can enjoy live performances by "carranguera" music groups, both local and from nearby towns such as Tunja, Chocontá, Cota and Bogotá. 

"La Pola" Festivals

Policarpa Salavarrieta, considered a heroine of Colombian independence and a martyr of the country for her work as a spy for the patriot army that led to her execution during the Spanish Reconquest, was born in Guaduas on January 26, 1795. Annually, the inhabitants of This municipality celebrates the anniversary of its birth during the last days of January in what is known as the Pola Festival (Fiestas de La Pola).
 

Tenjo Foundation Anniversary

In April, the municipality of Tenjo celebrates its anniversary festivities (Aniversario de Fundación Tenjo), where locals commemorate the town's founding by Judge Diego Gómez de Mena on April 8, 1603.

Tenjo's anniversary is a festive occasion that includes events like civic parades, art exhibitions, food and local entrepreneurship fairs, concerts, and traditional dance performances. There are also sports events, featuring soccer, futsal, and basketball matches with teams and schools from the area.

Departmental Festival of Symphonic Bands

In September, the municipality of Villeta receives delegations from all corners of Cundinamarca who come to participate in the Departmental Festival of Municipal Musical Bands (Festival Departamental de Bandas Sinfónicas), an event with more than 40 years of tradition that has become the main reference of the category in the department.
 
Annually, more than 100 groups from towns such as Chía, Cajicá, Facatativá, Mosquera and Tenjo meet in Villeta to show the educational processes carried out in the children's and youth bands of the municipalities.

For several days, attendees enjoy parades, concerts and live performances that highlight the musical and cultural richness of the region. 

National "Porro" Music Festival
