In October in Sandoná, Nariño, the patron saint's day of the Virgin of the Rosary (Fiestas Patronales de la Virgen del Rosario) is celebrated, a Marian dedication whose festival is commemorated on the 7th of the month according to the liturgical calendar. Religious activities are the central axis of the celebration. 
 
During the holidays, solemn masses, novenas and processions are held in which the image of the Virgin is carried through the streets of Sandoná, accompanied by faithful who pray and sing in her honor. The main procession is one of the most anticipated moments of the festival.

 The Sandoneño community brings out all its fervor and creativity with elaborate floral arrangements that pay homage to the patron saint. The girls of the town parade dressed in outfits referring to this and other Marian devotions. Serenades and fireworks complete the festivities.
 
The Patronal Festival of the Virgin of the Rosary (Fiestas Patronales de la Virgen del Rosario) in Sandoná is an event that strengthens the religious and cultural identity of the municipality, being a tradition that unites the community around faith and joy.
