In September Bucaramanga dresses up for the Bonita Fair (Feria Bonita), one of the most important events on the calendar of the capital of Santander. This fair, which was born at the end of the 1949 decade as an activity for the sale and purchase of livestock, is a celebration of Bumanguesa and Santander culture in all its aspects.
One of the main attractions of the fair is its great gastronomic offer. The cuisine of Santander is the protagonist in those days with a large number of gastronomic stands where you can get typical dishes such as mute, pepitoria de chivo, arepa santandereana and the famous culona ants.
There is also food on offer from other regions of the country and internationally, with a large number of restaurants participating in the fair.
The concerts, with truly international stars, are another of the great attractions of the event. The cultural offer includes parades, contests and musical festivals and cultural exhibitions.
There are also sporting events, ecological walks and craft fairs with all kinds of locally manufactured products. Another highlight is the livestock fair - a reminder of the festival's origins - where the best examples of livestock are exhibited and competitions and auctions are held.
The Bucaramanga Fair is a space to celebrate culture, talent and Santander pride, attracting visitors from all over the country and abroad.
