During Holy Week, the tourist resort of Rincón del Mar in the municipality of San Onofre is home to the Sun and Sea Festival (Festival del Sol y del Mar), an event that has been held annually in this town in the Gulf of Morrosquillo region since the 1990s. .
During this celebration, the Sanonofrinos pay tribute to their culture with musical contests and live performances of bullerengue, champeta, salsa and vallenato, “piqueria” contests (a musical battle between two vallenato improvisers), gastronomic fairs where you can taste the typical dishes of the region and the traditional beauty queen in which the candidates parade in typical costume of the region and dance to the rhythm of bullerengue.
In the same way, the typical product of San Onofre is honored with the Comelón de Patilla Contest.
