In November, the Dulce Fair is held in Floridablanca (Feria Dulce de Floridablanca), one of the most important events on the festive calendar in this municipality in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga.
These fairs and festivals, which take place around the anniversary of the municipality's founding, pay tribute to the city's sweet-making tradition, famous for its wafers.
The event has several business fairs and gastronomic festivals where you can get wafers with all kinds of fillings and toppings, cocadas, panelitas and celery, lemon or coconut rice sweets manufactured by the emblematic company Dulces Celis.
At business fairs you can also find jewelry, shoes, clothing and decorative items made by local artisans. In addition to this, within the framework of the fair, cultural activities such as theater festivals, concerts and the "Hermanos Martínez" National Duets Festival are carried out, with the presentation of folk music groups from all over the country. Sports competitions are also held with cycling, boxing and micro-soccer events.
This event, which attracts tourists from all over the country, not only celebrates the local gastronomic wealth, but also promotes the economic development of small producers and artisans in the region, strengthening the cultural and sweet identity of Floridablanca.
