In September, Barichara is the scene of the Green Film Festival (FESTIVER), an event that seeks to use cinema and audiovisual media to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment and protecting natural resources.

Within the framework of the festival, national and foreign short and feature film competitions are held, with productions that reflect on problems such as water and air pollution, the impact of the extractive industry on ecosystems, the protection of fauna or the relationship of peasants and indigenous peoples with nature.

Screenings of fiction and documentary films are also held outside of competitions and forums, workshops and discussions both on nature and environmental protection and on technical aspects of film language, such as classes in sound design, film editing or photograph. FESTIVER also includes peasant markets with environmentally friendly products and tree planting days.

September is the perfect occasion to visit Barichara and fall in love with its beautiful colonial architecture and great variety of cuisine and extreme sports, while learning more about the importance of caring for the environment through cinema, one of the most powerful pedagogical tools there is. .
