Every August, the Regional Dance Competition for Couple Queen "Pasillo and Tradition" (Concurso Regional Pareja Reina del Pasillo y Tradición)is held in La Celia, a municipality in Risaralda located about 67 kilometers from Pereira. This event was founded in 2014 as a departmental festival and became a regional event in 2021.

The competition brings together dance couples from different municipalities in the departments of Risaralda, Caldas, and Quindío. Participants perform choreographies filled with elegance and precision, accompanied by the traditional "pasillo" music.

Traditional costumes, including long dresses for women and formal attire for men, also play a fundamental role in the performance, highlighting the cultural identity of the region.

The competition is not only a contest but also a platform for promoting local culture and Andean folklore.

Additionally, the event attracts numerous spectators and tourists, becoming a celebration of dance, music, and the traditions that are part of the cultural heritage of Risaralda.

As part of the competition, there are also parades that highlight the cultural elements of the Colombian coffee region.
