In October of every year since its first edition in 2005, the Pasto International Film Festival (FICPA) is held in the capital of Nariño, one of the main film festivals in the west of the country, which seeks to strengthen the audiovisual culture of the region. serving as a space to disseminate the works of local directors, but also from other places in the country and from other countries.
 
Within the framework of the FICPA, numerous competitions are held that reward the best productions in very varied categories such as animation, Nariño short film, fiction or documentary short film, both Colombian and international feature film, music video, experimental short film and, in recent editions, a film competition. made with a cell phone by children and young people from Nariño. 

In this way, the FICPA seeks to consolidate itself as an event that not only serves to disseminate local and national audiovisual productions but also to motivate young people to pick up a camera and start their path in the world of cinema. 

This work of sowing a love for cinema and a greater knowledge of it among fans of all ages is completed with the series of conversations, workshops and master classes taught by directors, actors and producers that are taught during the FICPA.
 
The event not only celebrates the art of cinema, but also promotes cultural tourism in Pasto. With its festive and welcoming atmosphere, the Pasto International Film Festival (Festival Internacional de Cine de Pasto - Ficpa) has established itself as an important reference in the film festival circuit in Colombia and Latin America.
