The small town of Puerto Concordia, on the banks of the Ariari River in the southern part of the Meta department, has the Horseshoe Festival (Festival de La Herradura) as its main cultural celebration, held in December.

With live music from local and national artists, the people of Concordia celebrate their traditions during a weekend filled with activities typical of the festivities in Colombia’s eastern plains.

"Joropo" takes center stage in dance competitions for both children and adults, with dance performances in the town's streets and traditional horseback rides throughout the municipality.

Bull tailing, a traditional regional sport where a rider tries to take down a bull by grabbing its tail, is also a key feature.

The Horseshoe Festival (Festival de La Herradura) not only celebrates the typical traditions of the region but also strengthens the sense of community and promotes tourism in Puerto Concordia, attracting a large number of visitors, mainly from the neighboring department of Guaviare, who participate enthusiastically in the festivities.
