In October, the municipality of Granada celebrates its traditional "Llanera" Harvest Festival (Festival de la Cosecha Llanera), a celebration in which the people of this town in Meta pay homage to their culture and agricultural heritage.

The festival, celebrated for over 60 years and formally institutionalized in 1994, is known for its iconic float parade, where the residents of Granada showcase their talent by creating incredible animal figures using typical regional products.

Large floats featuring horses, chickens, capybaras, or goats made from plantains, papayas, mangoes, cocoa, and pumpkins parade through the streets, celebrating the natural wealth of the region.

The festival also includes a beauty pageant with contestants from different parts of the municipality, as well as concerts and cultural showcases of traditional music and dance, with "joropo" as the star attraction.

With parades, horseback rides, sports events, and traditional games, the Festival becomes a gathering space for the community, where music, agriculture, and local tradition are celebrated with pride and joy.
