In January the municipality of San Sebastián in the south of the department of Cauca celebrates its patron saint festivities, in which it pays tribute to the 3rd century martyr who gives its name to the town.

The central days of the patron saint's festivities are January 20, the day on which Saint Sebastian is commemorated according to the Catholic festive calendar, and the 19th, the eve of the festival, on which the Eucharist is celebrated, followed by a procession with the image of the patron saint through the streets of the town.

Vespers ends with a fireworks show in the central square, preparing the festive atmosphere for the solemn Eucharist that is celebrated the next day.

In addition to religious celebrations, during the holiday weekend, cultural and recreational activities are carried out such as horseback riding, food fairs, troupe parades, soccer and basketball tournaments, and live performances by local artists and special guests that unite the community around music.

These festivals are a reflection of the faith, culture and identity of San Sebastián, and a space for coexistence and enjoyment of all its inhabitants and visitors.
