In July the municipality of El Paujil, in the Amazon foothills of Caquetá, celebrates its Folkloric Festival and Traditions of Our People "San Pedro En El Paujil".
The festivities begin at dawn on Friday with a great dawn that starts from the main park and travels through the streets of the town, waking up the neighbors and inviting them to join the celebrations.
During the weekend, different cultural and recreational activities are carried out such as parades of floats and troupes, horseback riding, popular festivals and concerts with guest artists of national stature.
A pageant is also carried out with candidates who represent either different lines of the Paujileña economy, such as commerce and livestock, or educational institutions of the municipality.
This event is not only an opportunity to preserve and promote local traditions, but also to strengthen community ties and attract visitors who wish to learn about the cultural richness of El Paujil and the Amazon foothills.
