In October the municipality of Pisba, a small municipality in the east of Boyacá, celebrates its patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgen del Rosario.
For five days, "Pisbanos" participate in a series of activities that highlight the traditions of the region, particularly its livestock vocation. Horseback riding, livestock and horse shows, roping and cowboy competitions, and even corralejas are held in the town's bullring.
Devotion to the Virgin of the Rosary is a central element of the festivities. In addition to the corresponding vespers (rounded off by a fireworks show) and solemn Eucharist, serenades are held in honor of the town's patron saint, as well as processions and field masses.
Likewise, the festival has a wide variety of musical performances for all tastes, sports activities, contests and traditional games.
The Virgen del Rosario Festival in Pisba strengthens the sense of community and celebrates cultural identity, consolidating itself as one of the main events in the municipality's festive calendar.
