The Multicultural Festival of the Montes de María (Fesitval Multicultural de los Montes de María) is a celebration that every December brings together the residents of this region of the department of Bolívar around their common cultural identity, their customs and their traditional music.
Although originally the festival had various venues, rotating through the seven municipalities that make up the Montes de María region in Bolívar, since 2017 it has set its headquarters in El Carmen de Bolívar, the largest of the towns in the area, where it has been held. since then.
Over the years the festival, abbreviated as FestiMaría, has had the presence of the most iconic artists of the region such as the Gaiteros de San Jacinto, Petrona Martínez and Adolfo Pacheco, legends of traditional music from the Caribbean coast.
During the two days of FestiMaría you can also enjoy discussions about the history and tradition of the region's rhythms and a fair where artists and artisans from the municipalities of Montes de María exhibit local flavors and talent.
FestiMaría, in addition to being a beautiful tribute to one of the musically richest regions in the country, is an important initiative to strengthen regional identity and pride.
