At the beginning of June, the Sea and Tourism Festival (Festival del Mar y del Turismo) is held in Puerto Colombia, with the aim of exalting the culture and gastronomy of the Atlántico department.
The festival takes place in the town's main square, where attendees can enjoy a wide range of activities for the whole family.
The craft fair, where more than 30 artisans from the region exhibit and sell their products, is one of the main attractions of the festival, as is the gastronomic fair, where the products of local fishermen are the protagonists.
Likewise, during the festival a peagent is held in which representatives from different municipalities of the department demonstrate their beauty, intelligence and knowledge about the importance of the sea and tourism for the community.
The winner, crowned Captain of the Sea, is in charge of representing the Atlético department at the Sea Festivals in Santa Marta.
The Festival of the Sea and Tourism (Festival del Mar y del Turismo) in Puerto Colombia not only celebrates the natural and cultural wealth of the municipality, but has also become an important driver of economic activity in the Atlantic, becoming an unmissable event that highlights the beauty and potential of this charming coastal town.
