The Carnival of Puerto Colombia, celebrated in this municipality in the department of Atlántico, Colombia, is one of the most joyful and colorful festivities in the region.

This event, which takes place in parallel to the famous Barranquilla Carnival, reflects the rich cultural heritage and festive traditions of the local community.

During the carnival, Puerto Colombia comes alive with vibrant parades, troupes, floats and costumes that walk through its streets.

Music is an essential component, with Caribbean rhythms such as cumbia, porro and mapalé, which invite everyone to dance and enjoy. Local bands and folk groups offer performances that highlight the cultural diversity and artistic talent of the region.

One of the most anticipated events is the election and coronation of the Carnival Queen, who leads the festivities and represents the festive spirit of the municipality.

A children's pageant is also held and the coronation of King Momo takes place, just like in Barranquilla.

During the carnival, the famous Sirenato de la Cumbia takes place, a characteristic festival of the municipality in which tribute is paid to this folkloric musical genre and which includes parades and musical presentations.

In essence, the Puerto Colombia Carnival is a celebration that strengthens the sense of identity and social cohesion, promoting local culture and traditions while attracting tourists and energizing the municipality's economy.
