In the first months of the year, the Summer Festival (Festival de Verano) takes place in Arauquita, one of the most anticipated events for young people in the municipality and its surroundings.
The Arauca River and its beaches are the scene of various activities in days full of contests and fun. Teams made up of men, women and children compete in sandcastle building events, obstacle challenges, swimming, canoeing, endurance events and target shooting.
At night the entertainment moves from the beach to the main stage where you can enjoy concerts by guest artists.
Another of the main events of the festival is the pageant in which young women from Arauquita and other municipalities of Arauca such as Tame, Puerto Rondón and Saravena compete for the crown of the Summer Girl.
The Arauquita Summer Festival (Festival de Verano) not only provides entertainment and fun, but also strengthens the sense of community and promotes local tourism.
