Since 1997, at the initiative of Cortiple guided by the tiplist master José Luis Martínez Vesga, the National "Tiple" Meeting (Fiestas Del Maíz) has been held annually in Envigado, a musical festival that seeks to honor and disseminate this native instrument, declared Cultural and artistic Heritage. of the Nation in 2005.
The festival has different events around this instrument, among which the Tiples al Parque concerts that take place in the main park of Envigado and the Colombian and International Tiple Gala that bring together artists and groups from different Latin American countries stand out.
Likewise, within the framework of the festival, discussions are held about the history, manufacture and sound of the tiple and exhibitions of artistic works that pay tribute to the instrument have been organized.
The "Tiple" Festival (Fiestas Del Maíz) celebrates the cultural importance of this instrument in Colombia, highlighting its fundamental role in traditional music.
