In November in Chigorodó, a municipality in Urabá Antioquia, the Intercollegiate Dance Festival (FestivalIntercolgiado de Danza) takes place, an event that already has more than ten years of tradition.
The festival offers a platform for students to showcase their skills in a variety of dance styles, from traditional rhythms such as cumbia and bambuco to modern and contemporary dances.
Educational institutions from Chigorodó, but also from other municipalities in the region such as San Pedro de Urabá and Apartadó, participate in this event in which the first three places in the contest are recognized with cash prizes.
In addition to the competitive component, the festival stands out by helping to keep the typical dances current among new generations not only from the region but from different places in Antioquia and the country.
The Chigorodó Intercollegiate Dance Festival (FestivalIntercolgiado de Danza) not only encourages artistic and cultural development among young people, but also strengthens local identity and community cohesion, becoming a significant event for the region.
