In March the town of Chigorodó in Urabá Antioquia celebrates its traditional Agroindustrial Fair and River Festival (Fiestas Agroindustriales y Fiestas del Río), an emblematic festival of the municipality.

During the weekend, Chigorodó receives visitors from all corners of Urabá and other regions of the country who come to enjoy a varied program that celebrates the typical customs of the area, its natural wealth and its typical products.

Lovers of horses and livestock have the opportunity to attend events such as the parade along the Guaduas River, the equine festival and the traditional cowboy competitions.

Peasant markets are also organized where you can purchase fresh, locally grown products such as bananas, plantains, cassava, rice and corn, which helps revitalize commerce in the municipality.

One of the main events of the river festivals is the popular pageant in which Miss Chigorodó is chosen from among candidates from the townships and villages of the municipality.

There is also live music with special guests, cultural displays and the traditional desenguayabe sancochos contest on Monday, with which the festivities end.

The River Festivals in Chigorodó (Fiestas Agroindustriales y Fiestas del Río) not only celebrate the importance of the river in the daily life of the municipality, but also strengthen community ties and promote tourism in Urabá, consolidating itself as an essential tradition in the region's festive calendar.
