At the beginning of November, the River Festival (Fiestas del Río) is celebrated in the town of Aragón, municipality of Santa Rosa de Osos, an emblematic celebration long awaited by the inhabitants of this town, named in homage to the Rio Grande that runs through the town.
The festivities include a wide variety of activities for the enjoyment of Aragonese of all ages. Sports championships are organized where matches between teams of inhabitants of the township and Aragonese residents in Medellín stand out; Entrepreneurship fairs are held that revitalize local commerce, as well as float parades and troupes that celebrate the culture of the region.
Live music enlivens the nights in the town's central park with presentations by guest artists, exponents of genres such as trova, northern music and tropical music. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine, with stalls offering typical dishes from the region.
