Between the end of October and the beginning of November, on the festive weekend of All Saints, in the municipality of Santo Domingo in the northeast of Antioquia, the Chalán and Livestock Festivals (Fiestas del Chalan y La Ganadería )are celebrated.

These festivities have a varied program in which animals are the protagonists. Since Halloween normally falls during the week of these holidays, there are costume parades and costumed pet parades, perfect activities to enjoy with the family. Deworming sessions are also carried out for both pets and horses and cattle.

Attendees can also enjoy live music and local cuisine, with typical dishes such as tumba paisa, sancocho and roasts.

The Chalán and Livestock Festivals not only celebrate equestrian and livestock heritage, but also promote community unity and rural tourism.

These festivities are an opportunity for the community to come together, strengthen their ties, and proudly display their culture and traditions.
