At the end of June, during the festivals of San Pedro and San Pablo, Anorí pays tribute to its roots with the Farmer and Miner Festivals, with which the municipality celebrates its agricultural vocation and the gold mining that characterizes the entire northeast. Antioquian.
The festivals include a peasant market where local farmers can sell their typical products such as cocoa, cassava, coffee, panela and other sugar cane derivatives.
There are also contests between farmers and local producers who compete to show the largest product (cassava, arepa, panela, panela blanching among others), as well as competitions for muleteers and lumberjacks.
As is tradition in various peasant festivals, a lunch prepared by several local restaurants is shared, in a time that unites the community around the same dish. In the afternoons there are musical shows with local talent and guest artists.
The Farmer and Miner Festivals (Conmemoración del Día del Campesino) are an expression of gratitude and recognition of the contribution of these workers to the development of Anorí. In addition, they strengthen community ties, consolidating themselves as an essential tradition in the municipality's cultural calendar.
