Located at the meeting point of the borders of Colombia, Brazil and Peru, once a year Leticia pays tribute to this union of nations at the Amazonian Confraternity Festival (Festival Internacional de la Confraternidad Amazónica ), which is celebrated between July 15 and 20.
The festival was born as a way to celebrate the region's own culture within the framework of the military and sporting events that took place on the occasion of the July 20 festival.
Although these events still draw much of the attention today—mainly the impressive military parade that opens the celebration and the soccer tournament featuring delegations from the three countries—attendees can also enjoy other activities, such as the pageant in which Miss Amazonian Fellowship is crowned, with representatives from Colombia, Peru, and Brazil, or the gastronomic festival in which you can appreciate the typical products and dishes of the Amazon region, such as mojojoy, tucupí, grilled meats and all kinds of fruits and freshwater fish.
In addition to being a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural and gastronomic wealth of the Amazon, the Amazon Confederation Festival allows you to appreciate the efforts of integration and cooperation between the three border countries that in this festival strengthen ties of brotherhood and commitment to the development of the region.
