In mid-July, in the municipality of Fresno, located in the coffee-growing region of Tolima, the Special Coffee Fair of Northern Tolima and Eastern Caldas ( Feria de Cafés Especiales del Norte del Tolima y el Oriente de Caldas) takes place, an event that aims to highlight the quality and diversity of the coffees produced in this area of the country.

The fair brings together coffee producers, experts, and enthusiasts. Coffee producers showcase their best beans, known for their origin, cultivation processes, and unique flavor notes.

Competitions are organized where the coffees are evaluated by expert cuppers, who select the best lots in categories such as aroma, acidity, body, and sweetness.

There are also barista competitions where they demonstrate their skills in latte art and brewing methods like Aeropress.

Additionally, workshops and talks on sustainable practices, cultivation techniques, and trends in the specialty coffee market are held.

The fair also includes cultural activities such as performances by local artists. This event not only promotes the consumption of high-quality coffees but also highlights the efforts of the region’s coffee growers, emphasizing the importance of this activity in the economy and culture of Tolima and Caldas.
