Between the end of September and the beginning of October in the municipality of Condoto, the patron saint festivities are celebrated in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary, whose festival is commemorated on October 7 according to the Catholic holiday calendar.
The central days of the festivities are Vespers and Classic Day. At Vespers, a dawn rosary is held in the early hours of the morning and a procession takes place with the image of the patron saint of Condoto.
Classic Day is marked by the celebration of the Eucharist and a massive procession accompanied by songs, drums and cymbals.
During the entire week of the festivities, the neighborhoods of Condoto organize different parades that unite the entire community around the traditional music of the region and typical dances, celebrating Afro-Chocoan culture.
The Festivities of the Virgin of the Rosary in Condoto are a space for meeting and celebration, where the community comes together to pay tribute to its patron saint and at the same time reaffirm its cultural identity, in an atmosphere of faith, joy and tradition.
