Since 1974, the “Mono Núñez” Colombian Andean Music Festival (Festival De Música Andina Colombiana Mono Núñez) has been held in Geneva, named in honor of Benigno Núñez, a musician born in this municipality in 1897. 

Declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 2003, it is one of the most important folk music festivals. of Colombia, and the most important Andean music event in the country, celebrating the typical rhythms of the region such as "pasillo", "bambuco", "torbellino" and "guabina".
 
The main event of the festival is the Colombian Andean Music Contest, divided into vocal and instrumental categories, in which twelve artists compete in each modality, qualifying four for the respective final. This contest has served as a platform for new Colombian artists, some of them being nominated for the Grammy Awards.
 
In addition to the contest, during the “Mono Núñez” you can also enjoy music workshops, craft fairs with local products and free outdoor concerts in which winners of previous editions of the Andean Music Contest and special guests perform.
 
The importance that this festival has gained over the years has made it one of the main drivers of tourism in the municipality of Geneva, serving as an opportunity for restaurants and artisans to publicize their products and exhibit the region's specialties. .
