El Carmen de Viboral, a municipality located about 45 kilometers southeast of Medellín, is known as the “cradle of artisanal ceramics” due to its large number of factories producing high-quality ceramics.
To honor this distinctive tradition, the Fiestas de la Loza(Fiestas de la Loza) are held annually in early December.

The main events of these festivals revolve around local craftsmanship, highlighting the Living Ceramic Factory that brings together several artisans in the town's central park to show the main techniques, tools and materials in the process of making their products.

There is also a market where local artisans can display and sell their products, which, adorned with floral motifs and traditional designs, are recognized nationally and internationally for their quality and beauty.
In addition to ceramics, the festivals offer a rich cultural program with live music, folk dances and gastronomic samples.

The Earthenware Festivals in El Carmen de Viboral are a testimony of the cultural and artisan wealth of the municipality, promoting tourism and consolidating the reputation of this town as a benchmark in ceramic production in Colombia.
