Within the framework of the town's fairs and festivals, Arauquita pays tribute to the traditional music of the eastern Colombian plains with the International Llanera Music Festival “El Bonguero de Oro”.
The joropo is the main protagonist of the festival. The competitions include both instrumental performance, with harp, cuatro and maracas, as well as singing and dancing. These competitions are a vibrant display of skill and passion, bringing together artists from different places in Arauca and the Colombian and Venezuelan plains.
