In November in Riohacha, capital of the department of La Guajira, the International Bolero Festival (Festival Internacional Del Bolero) is held, an event that was held for the first time in 2002 and was resumed in 2023 after more than a decade of hiatus.

One of the central events of the festival is the Collectors' Meeting, a space where great music lovers from the entire Caribbean basin come to exhibit true hidden or forgotten bolero gems, which they have kept over the years.

In addition to this, the festival brings together prominent national and international artists, who perform bolero classics, evoking the nostalgia and emotion of this musical genre.

The presentations include both established performers and new talents, who give the bolero a contemporary touch without losing its traditional essence.

In addition to the concerts, within the framework of the festival the forum “The Caribbean and its Music” is held where topics related to the history of the bolero, its evolution and its cultural impact on Latin American music are addressed. These activities seek to educate new generations and keep alive the musical tradition of the region.

The International Bolero Festival in Riohacha (Festival Internacional Del Bolero) not only promotes this musical genre, but has also become a space for cultural integration, attracting tourists and bolero lovers from various parts of the country and the world, consolidating Riohacha as a cultural reference. .
