Puerto Concordia, a municipality in the southern part of Meta, on the banks of the Ariari River and just half an hour from San José del Guaviare, comes alive in December with the traditional Folkloric and Cultural Horseshoe Festival (Festival Cultural y Folclórico de la Herradura), a celebration that highlights local traditions and the cultural identity of the region.

One of the central events of the festival is the beauty pageant, where candidates from all corners of the municipality compete, showcasing their beauty, charm, and knowledge of the region’s culture and history.

As part of the pageant, a spectacular parade is held, featuring hundreds of horse riders, proudly emphasizing the municipality's equestrian tradition.

Additionally, traditional competitions such as bull tailing—a "llanero" discipline where riders demonstrate their skill in handling cattle—take place.

The festival also includes local music performances, with "joropo" taking center stage, as well as food fairs that highlight typical regional products, allowing attendees to enjoy delicious cuisine.

The Horseshoe Festival is a celebration of "llanero" spirit and a gathering space that strengthens the cultural identity of Puerto Concordia.
