In March Manizales celebrates its horseback riding tradition with the Grade A Equine Exhibition (Exposición Equina Grado A) organized by the Caldense Association of Horsemen, Asdecaldas, an event with more than six decades of history that is already an integral part of the city's calendar.
During the event, which takes place at the Expoferias, competitions and judging are held in the traditional categories of trocha, trot and gallop, rewarding specimens in different age ranges, as well as donkeys and mules.
The Grade A Equine Show is known for its high level of competition, attracting the best horses and nationally renowned expert judges. The winning horses at this fair are usually considered the most outstanding of the season, which increases their value in the market.
In addition to competitions, the fair offers an opportunity for attendees to enjoy a variety of complementary activities, such as trade exhibitions, social events and musical performances. This event not only highlights the importance of the horse in Colombian culture, but also boosts the local economy, attracting visitors and participants from all over the country.
