In October, the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, on the banks of the Caguán River in Caquetá, receives delegations from each of the 16 municipalities of the department, who meet there to celebrate the “Diosa Del Chaira” Folklore Integration Festival, whose name pays tribute to one of the most significant myths of the indigenous peoples of the region.

Dance is the main protagonist of the festival. The different delegations perform on the stage installed in the main park of the town to show the dance tradition of the region. These presentations show the richness of the cultural expressions of Caquetá, with dances that tell stories of daily life, ancestral beliefs and the deep relationship with nature.

Delegations from other regions of the country also participate in the festival, bringing their own traditions and artistic expressions to the heart of Caquetá, ranging from folk dances from the Andean region to modern dance samples to the rhythm of hip-hop and urban music. .

The Diosa del Chairá Folkloric Integration Festival (Festival de Integración Folclórica Diosa del Chaira) is a space for meeting and cultural exchange that strengthens the identity of Cartagena del Chairá and favors integration between the municipalities of Caquetá, while attracting visitors and promoting tourism, highlighting the importance of traditions in the construction of the social fabric.
