On July 16, the municipality of Apartadó pays tribute to the drivers during the traditional festival of the Virgen del Carmen (Fiestas de La Virgen del Carmen)
The main event takes place at the city's Transportation Terminal, where presentations by guest artists are held for the enjoyment of all drivers in the city.
Likewise, the day includes a formal event led by the mayor, who takes advantage of the party to thank the drivers for their work, whose work is fundamental in the economic life of Apartadó and Urabá.
In the afternoon, the traditional procession of the Virgen del Carmen takes place in which drivers decorate their buses, dump trucks, trucks, taxis and private cars with blue and white balloons, ribbons, flowers and images alluding to this Marian devotion.
The "Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen" in Apartadó not only celebrates religious devotion, but also highlights the importance of drivers in community life, promoting a sense of togetherness and gratitude in the city.
