Every two years, in October, the municipality of Aranzazu celebrates its traditional Cabuya and Coffee Cultural Landscape Festivals (Fiestas de la Cabuya y el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero ).
During the festivities, Aranzazu residents and visitors participate in a variety of activities that highlight the importance of cabuya and coffee in local life.
Craft exhibitions are held where artisans show their skill in creating products based on cabuya, such as backpacks, hats and other traditional items. Specialty coffee samples and local business fairs are also held.
The festivities also include cultural and sports activities such as parades of floats and troupes, lightning tournaments of micro-soccer, volleyball and badminton and the popular ball cart races.
A pageant is also carried out with candidates from the town centers and villages of the municipality. The queen crowned in these festivities is in charge of representing Aranzazu in the National Coffee Reign.
These festivities not only reinforce the cultural identity of Aranzazu, but also promote tourism and the recognition of the municipality as an integral part of the Coffee Cultural Landscape.
