At the beginning of November in Inírida, capital of Guainía, the Festival of Colonies and Three Cultures Gathering (Festival de Colonias y Encuentro de Tres Culturas) is celebrated, a festival with which the people of Inírida celebrate their own culture, their traditions and the multi-ethnic and multicultural character of the region.

This festival, born at the end of the 1990s to celebrate the anniversary of the municipality, was declared cultural heritage of the nation in 2016.

Music and cultural displays are the center of the festival. The rhythms, dances and costumes of the indigenous peoples of the region share the stage with the joropo and the colorful skirts characteristic of this dance typical of the llanera culture.

Likewise, emblematic cultural expressions from other regions of the country such as vallenato are present, thus celebrating the culture of the colonies residing in Inírida.

To celebrate the cultural diversity of the city, gastronomic fairs are also organized in which each neighborhood has the opportunity to publicize the typical products and dishes of its region of origin, as well as parades of floats and troupes in which the colonies exhibit the most representative elements of their cultures.

In addition to cultural displays, the festival includes sports competitions, fireworks and concerts with special guests. The Festival of Colonies and Three Cultures Gathering (Festival de Colonias y Encuentro de Tres Culturas) in Inírida is a unique opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote integration and strengthen the cultural identity of Guainía, attracting visitors and promoting tourism in this region.
