In October, San José del Guaviare celebrates the diversity of its population with the Colonies Festival (Festival de las Colonias), an event that already has three decades of tradition and that brings together settlers from different areas of the country who came to Guaviare in search of new opportunities, and who They are now part of the region's multicultural identity.
 
During the festival, each participating neighborhood has the opportunity to exhibit its cultural wealth through cultural displays, where typical costumes, traditional dances and music from their regions of origin are protagonists. 

In addition, the festival includes gastronomic fairs, in which each colony offers typical dishes from their land, allowing attendees to taste a wide variety of flavors. 

The pageant is another of the central events. Each colony presents a candidate, from among whom the new Queen of the Colonies Festival emerges. Live music with local artists and special guests livens up the party and reinforces the festive atmosphere in the city.
