On July 16, the municipality of Mutatá in Urabá, Antioquia, celebrates the Festival of the Virgin of Carmen (Fiesta de la Virgen Del Carmen), the patron saint of the town and the drivers' union.

The preparations for this festivity begin more than a week before, precisely on the 7th of the month, when the novena to this devotion to the Virgin Mary begins, which is prayed daily until the 15th.

On the day of the festival, the drivers of buses, trucks, dump trucks and taxis from Mutatá take their vehicles in procession through the different towns of the municipality, ending their journey at the main temple of the town, the Nuestra Señora del Carmen Parish, where the festival is celebrated. Holy Mass.

During the procession, the drivers, with their vehicles, beautifully decorated with white, blue and gold balloons, ribbons and images of the Virgin Mary, sound their horns in tribute to their patron saint.

The feast of the Virgin of Carmen in Mutatá is an opportunity to get closer to the popular manifestations of Catholic devotion in one of the main events of the religious calendar in Colombia.
