Every year the municipality of Amalfi in the northeast of Antioquia pays tribute to the work of its farmers with the Peasant Family Festival (Fiesta de la Familia Campesina).
During the day, farm workers can access health services, Casa Justicia, and a hair salon and barber shop for free, as well as participate in various games and contests that include a mechanical bull, rope tying, mule driving, coffee tasting, and a knot-tying contest. , in addition to sports competitions with soccer and indoor soccer tournaments between teams from the different districts of the municipality.
One of the main events of the day is the community lunch where attendees can enjoy a nutritious meal courtesy of the mayor's office.
With this lunch, the community not only gathers around a dish but also seeks to integrate local restaurants and businesses, boosting the municipality's economy.The day closes with live music with local talent and special guests.
