At the beginning of the year, the municipality of Labranzagrande, east of Boyacá, celebrates its fairs and festivals (Ferias, Fiestas y Encuentro Cultural Municipio de Labranzagrande), a traditional event that celebrates the town's peasant culture and its livestock tradition.
The festivities include livestock and equine fairs in which both local ranchers and farmers from surrounding municipalities in Boyacá and Casanare participate, as well as typical activities such as dairy cow competitions, dairy competitions, horseback riding and corralejas.
The agricultural vocation of the region is celebrated with peasant markets in which local producers display and sell their products.
Live music cannot be missed with the traditional popular festivals and concerts that invite the entire town to dance and enjoy in the central square of Labranzagrande, with the participation of guest artists of national stature.
Other activities are also carried out for different tastes, such as motorcycle rides and motocross events, or the bodybuilding championship with participants from all over the country, which was very successful in the 2023 edition.
The Labranzagrande Fairs and Festivals (Ferias, Fiestas y Encuentro Cultural Municipio de Labranzagrande) not only celebrate the cultural identity of the municipality, but also strengthen ties between residents and attract visitors, contributing to the tourist and economic development of the region.
