In September in Yopal the Dual Purpose, Commercial and Tourist Livestock Fair (Feria Ganadera Doble Propósito, Comercial, Agroindustrial y Turística) takes place, a fair with more than 15 years of tradition that has positioned itself as one of the most important category events in the region.
The bovine and equine exhibitions are the most anticipated events of the fair, serving as a platform for local livestock farms to show the high genetic quality of their specimens.
During the fair, judging is carried out with the support of the Casanare Horsemen's Association in the traditional categories of walk, trot and trocha. Likewise, the dairy cow competition is held, as well as an exhibition of calves and auctions.
The agroindustrial fair is a great opportunity for local producers to learn about and acquire products aimed at the agricultural sector of the region such as machinery, equipment, agrochemical products and innovative technologies. As part of the fair, a gastronomic festival is held in which attendees can taste the typical dishes of the region.
There is also no shortage of live music with rhythms such as vallenato and joropo that liven up the event.
