During Holy Week, the municipality of Duitama experiences its busiest days with the celebration of Cultural and Tourist Holy Week, one of the main events in the city's festive calendar.
During the week the religious coexists with the secular in a tight calendar of activities for all tastes and ages. Thus, for example, sacred music concerts and religious art exhibitions are held, as well as thematic models on the life of Jesus and the traditional Holy Week Live in which actors from local theater companies stage scenes from the Gospels related to the last supper, prayer in the garden, the arrest, passion, death and resurrection of Christ.
