In August, the Fairs and Festivals of Corinto (Ferias y Fiestas de Corinto) are held, a municipality located in the north of the department of Cauca, about 120 kilometers from Popayán. The festivities, called For Peace, Reconciliation and Coexistence, seek to be an occasion for unity and joy in a territory historically affected by the internal armed conflict.

The wooden horse parade is one of the main events of the festivities.

Corinthian children walk the streets riding decorated wooden horses in a party that encourages the participation of the whole family, with children's music and shows for children.

Concerts are another of the great attractions, with presentations by local and national artists that take place at night in the town's central park.

In addition to this, the festivals are characterized by street sales in which local merchants have the opportunity to publicize their products - mainly typical food and drinks from the region - helping to revitalize the municipality's economy.

The Fairs and Festivals for Peace, Reconciliation and Coexistence are a moment of gathering for the community, where unity is strengthened and the cultural roots of Corinth are celebrated, making these fairs an unforgettable event of the year.
