One of the main events of the anniversary celebrations of the founding of Bogotá (celebrated on August 6) is the Parade of "Comparsas" (Desfile de Comparsas), the largest staging in the city that involves dancers, actors and artists from all over the metropolis. .

Annually more than 1,000 artists participate in the parade, representing the 20 towns of the city, in a route that usually takes the Carrera Séptima, ending in the Plaza de Bolívar. With costumes, music and dance, each troupe tells a different and unique story, highlighting the cultural diversity of the Colombian capital.

The roles of women in society, the care of the rivers and moors, the Muisca legends and traditions and the identity of the towns are some of the stories that have been recently represented by the participating troupes.

The "Comparsas" Parade is not only an opportunity for entertainment, but also a platform for inclusion and social integration.

Groups of all ages and origins participate, promoting respect and appreciation of the cultural diversity of Bogotá. This event, free and open to all, strengthens the sense of community and belonging, celebrating the dynamic and multicultural spirit of the Colombian capital.
