For nine days, generally in the third week of September, Tocancipá dresses up to organize the Festival of Colombianity (Festival de la Colombianidad), in which the town celebrates its birthday (September 21) paying tribute to the traditions of various regions of the country in a vibrant and colorful setting, full of music, folk dances, typical gastronomy, crafts and recreational activities.
 
Musical and dance groups, theater groups, small entrepreneurs and floats from all regions of the country meet in this municipality just 20 kilometers from the country's capital. 

Literature fans and visual artists also enjoy their own spaces thanks to the Atybuqhum Poetry and Orality Competition that has been held within the framework of the festival since its 2021 edition, and the Figurative Painting Competition and Art Salon of which More than ten editions have already been held.
 
The Tocancipá Colombian Festival (Festival de la Colombianidad) is not only an opportunity to enjoy Colombian culture and tradition, but also to strengthen community ties and foster national pride. It is an event that celebrates the identity and cultural heritage of Colombia in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
