In San Agustín, a municipality in the department of Huila best known for its impressive archaeological park, the Colombian Massif Bird Festival (Festival de Aves del Macizo Colombiano) is held annually in November, an event designed to celebrate the biodiversity of this region of southwestern Colombia and raise awareness about the importance of its conservation.

The festival has different academic and outdoor activities. Leading biologists, ornithologists and conservation experts give lectures with free admission for all fans of bird watching, ecotourism or ecology.

The theoretical component is complemented by a field trip to a path within the municipality where experts guide attendees on a day of bird watching. Amateur photography competitions and bird drawing classes for children are also held.

The Colombian Massif Bird Festival (Festival de Aves del Macizo Colombiano) is a celebration that promotes environmental education and ecotourism, highlighting the natural beauty of Huila.
